The Worth of Memories [FFVII, Rufus]
A drabble for ff_fortnightly.
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Title: The Worth of Memories

Spoilers (if applicable): Maybe very very obliquely?
Rating/Warnings: PG, I suppose?
Rufus didn’t think much of the past, or much about it. The past was only valuable to learn from, and he needed no mementos to etch the lessons into his thoughts. Thus, when he found a small box of old photographs, he perused them only briefly before destroying them. A candle in front of him, he let the past burn away, one sheet at a time. Each image remained for only a moment before being engulfed by flame. And then it was gone forever.
He watched the crisp red of an expensive suit curl to black ash, and smiled silently.
