Painting [FFXII]
For [info]kinkfest, due tomorrow.

Title: Painting
Fandom: Final Fantasy XII
Characters: Basch, Vossler
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 189
Prompt: Final Fantasy XII - Vossler/Basch - body paint - “ I never knew you were an artist”
Note: For me to look at the prompt and come up with this... I swear something in my mind is just wired wrong.

Vossler’s fingers left trails, warmth of flesh turning to cool and wet of paint, and the tension of paint drying on skin--an odd sensation.

“I never realized you were an artist,” Basch commented jokingly. Nor did he ever expect his back to serve as a canvas, he chose not to add. Vossler made a quiet “hmph” noise in response.

“An artist? Hardly,” he replied, painting a new line on Basch’s back and seeming to ponder it intensely. “A strategist, maybe. The paint is a matter of convenience.” True enough, Basch silently conceded. It was for Vossler’s visual benefit, and Basch’s physical one. An ingenious method of working out the next day’s plan that ended with the relevant diagrams being washed away without a trace. Vossler trace another line, and Basch raised an eyebrow.

“You’re moving that unit over there?” he questioned. “Doesn’t that leave them open?” Vossler sighed in response.

“You’re right,” he conceded, painting over the prior line in an X. “Alright, I can’t think about this anymore right now.” He paused a moment, then added, “Go wash up; you’re a mess, not to mention a liability.”
